Services we provide

Emergency living assistance to persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families for food, utilities, medical supplies, medications, and other quality of life needs.

Barriers, including condoms, available free of charge to help stop the spread of HIV.

Honoraria to low-income HIV+ speakers, who explain the realities of living with AIDS to school and community groups.

JAS sponsors an annual World AIDS Day observance, where individuals join in remembering those who have died, as well as to express hope for the future.

JAS sponsors the local "Walk Against AIDS", a fundraiser and educational opportunity for community members. One of the educational aspects of the Walk is a "poster contest" in the public schools to raise awareness. At the Walk day rally and picnic, participants and the public are treated to valuable information about the "state of the pandemic" presented by various speakers.

We have added the position of Volunteer Client Advocate. This volunteer serves our clients by assisting them in locating, understanding and utilizing the services that are available to them, both in and outside the scope of JAS.
